IIM Indore aims to produce socially conscious managers though all its programmes. The Integrated Programme in Management requires the participants to undergo a Social Internship at the end of 3 years into the programme where the multi-disciplinary exposure to various aspects of management is put to its best use.
The Social Placements Committee is a student body that acts as a bridge between the recruiting organisations and the IPM participants, and is dedicated to helping the students realise their potential as socially responsible leaders of the future. Last few years have seen participants being recruited by the CSR units of reputed organisations like Aditya Birla, Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited, BILT, BIOCON, Honda, ONGC, Schneider Electric, Tata Steel, etc. and NGOs like Bharti Mittal Foundation, Eureka Child Foundation, Lupin Foundation, Goonj, Magic Bus, Asha Parivar, CRY, EHSAAS, EKLAVYA, Save the Children, Smiles, Teach for India and Waste Warriors. In addition to these Social Internships, the participants undergo a business internship during their fourth year into the programme.
