MARKETRICKS – The Marketing Club
Marketricks, the marketing club of IIM Indore, Mumbai campus, aims to provide marketing enthusiasts a better understanding of marketing concepts in an interactive manner. The club provides an all-round experience of marketing through conducting various activities like knowledge sharing sessions, quizzes, simulation games and competitions.
The club conducted its first major event, Mark-Up quiz in October, 2013, where the participants put on their thinking hats to solve the puzzles on various marketing domains.
The quiz was divided into four rounds. While the first round was to identify companies by their taglines, second was to match different logos of organizations with the organization names. Third round was a dedicated trivia round with questions in the form of sentences or paragraph and the last round was a crossword puzzle based on marketing concepts.
Second event of the club was MarkWrit- an article writing competition, conducted in November, 2013. The theme of the article was to analyse the marketing strategy of a company or a new marketing concept, trend etc.
Another major event, Mad-Ad, was conducted in December, 2013, which was an advertisement-making competition. The participants were given different products for which they had to use their creative and innovative skills and advertise the product for its reverse effect, e.g., a face wash product was to be advertised for generating more pimples.
