FPM Chair’s Message

Knowledge is being considered as one of the most important drivers of the economy today and shall continue to be so in the years to come. Becoming a successful academic requires the ability to produce meaningful research that expands the frontiers of knowledge. The Fellow Programme in Management at IIM Indore provides an excellent opportunity to those who wish to contribute to the field of management sciences by doing research in the broad spectrum of management disciplines. The goal of the program is to prepare you for an excellent career in the field of teaching, training, and research.

FPM at IIMI involves two years of rigorous coursework followed by two years of dissertation research. The first year is common with the first year of PGP so that you work with the top managers of tomorrow and develop the abilities to look at things from all perspectives. From second year onwards, you focus on your research area in a culture that is marked by collaboration and cooperation. Participants at IIMI make an early transition from learning knowledge produced by others to producing knowledge themselves. To aid in this transition, mentors as well as advisors are assigned to you so that you have proper guidance from the day you join us. We are committed to provide you a great learning environment.

Participants are quickly drawn into the exciting intellectual discourse that takes place in numerous workshops. These workshops give faculty, participants, and visiting scholars the opportunity to expose their ideas to the constructive feedback of fellow researchers and the opportunity to learn firsthand about the cutting edge research of their colleagues and peers.

In a knowledge-based society, contribution to the filed of knowledge can open new and exciting opportunities on top of giving you what is popularly known as ‘joy of research’.
