FPM at IIMI provides financial support to its doctoral students. The FPM participants get a monthly stipend of Rs 15,000/- per month in the first and the second year, Rs. 20,000/- p.m. in the third and the fourth year. The FPM participants will be entitled to the stipend for a maximum period of four years. A contingency grant of Rs. 25,000 per annum to cover research expenses, and books and stationery allowance is available to all FPM participants during the first four years of the programme. No tuition fees shall be charged and free boarding and lodging will be provided for the first four years of the FPM programme with a maximum of two extensions of six months each.

Since the FPM is a full-time residential programme, bachelor accommodation is provided to all the participants in the Institute’s hostel on campus. Limited accommodation for married participants may be available on the campus on payment basis.
FPM participants are encouraged to present papers, which have been submitted to and accepted at professional conferences.

For conferences in India, the institute subsidizes to and fro A/C two tier rail fare, a daily allowance and the conference registration fee. For international conferences, the institute subsidizes expenses subject to a ceiling of Rs one lakh. Participation in international conferences is allowed once during the programme after the completion of the second year. Participation in National Conferences is allowed once in a year from second year onwards.
