Indian Institute of Management Indore
hosted the 4th Edition of the National Youth Conference from January
10-12, 2012. The conference is held every year by IIM Indore to
commemorate the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. This edition
of the conference coincided with the 150th birth anniversary
celebrations of Swami Vivekananda. Inspired by Swami Vivekananda’s
example, IIM Indore was motivated to organize this conference as a
humble effort to awaken the youth of India, sensitize them to issues
of national concern, and seek their opinions in addressing these
issues. The theme of this conference was “Spirit of India: A Nation
representing inclusiveness, diversity and self renewal”.
Conceived as a dialogue between opinion makers and the youth of this
country, the conference consisted of invited lectures and workshops
by prominent persons, as well as presentations by students of
educational institutions across the length and breadth of India to
present their respective points of view. The conference fostered a
spirit of free and frank exchange of ideas and opinions spanning
generations and geographies.
