![]() |
| Highlights >> |
| |
|
Āhvān is IIM Indore’s annual management festival and is one of the
most anticipated events among top B School participants across
India. The showcase events such as Ashwamedha, Kalpavriksha,
Klueless and Chanakya have seen tremendous participation from top B
Schools over the years, attracting some of the best minds in the
field of business and management. |
|
|
|
The festival took
its first steps in 2009, with the theme of ‘Imagining India’. Held
between 2nd and 4th December the 2010 edition
of Ahvan has moved ahead to take a bigger stride, with its theme to
‘Inspire to Act… Act to Inspire’. |
|
|
Among the events,
Ashwamedha is meticulously designed by a special team comprising
students, professors and consultants. Every year more than 1500 of
the brightest minds from top B-Schools of the country participate.
Ashwamedha is spread over 45 days culminating in the grand finale.
With the philosophy of “Ekamev Jayate”, Ashwamedha awards
only a single winner who takes the entire prize money and coveted
Golden Horse home. The event places participants in a series of
simulated real life scenarios in which they have to use their wits,
knowledge and passion to prove their mettle in varied aspects like
negotiation, decision making team work, creativity, stress handling,
self- confidence and other such skills testing the leadership and
managerial acumen under high pressure situations. |

|
Another flagship
event of Ahvan 2010 is Kalpavriksha- the social Business plan
competition. It strives to create a positive societal impact by
providing a forum for self-sustainablebusiness plans which seek to
sensitize its participants about the responsibility and potential
difference they can make. The belief that drives Kalpavriksha is
that the amalgamation of business principles with efforts towards
societal upliftment can be sustained and are powerful tool to
change. |
|
|
Gordian Knot is
another flagship event, one where management students would get down
from their ivory towers and be tested on their faculties to make the
best use of any situation. A thoroughly challenging event, it
received participation from more than 200 teams across colleges like
IIMs, IITs, MDI, IMT, IMI, NMIMS, SPJAIN, IIFT and FMS. |
|
|
|
Klueless– the
online game which in its 6th year
now, reached a new high with a million hits in the first 2 days
itself. People from US, UK, Indonesia, Kazakhstan and even Romania
have racked their brains to crack this puzzle. |
|
|
|
Ahvan’10 also
witnessed the launch of Chanakya, a consulting event in association
with Cognizant. The idea behind the event was to test the core
consulting skill of the participants. It was conducted in three
phases. It saw heavy participation from all premier B-schools of
India. The crème de la crème of B-schools like the IIMs, NITIE, IIFT
and Great Lakes registered their presence in the finals. |
