Dr. A P J Abdul
Kalam, the Scientist turned President turned Teacher is one of those
individuals who every Indian is proud of. He graced the campus of
IIM Indore during a 2 day visit (11-12 December 2009) to teach the
students of the Post Graduate Programme. His lectures and workshop
were centred on the topic – “Leadership for the Billion�.

| Dr. Kalam delivered the following
3 lectures each for two hours: Birth of Vision for the Nation, The
PURA Mission (PURA – “Providing Urban amenities for Rural Areas�),
and Knowledge Society and Leadership. |

In addition to the
lectures, Dr. Kalam and his team also listened to presentations
given by participants of IIM Indore. The ideas which were related to
the 10 Pillars for India’s development and the PURA Mission were
debated and discussed by everyone present in the gathering. |

| Dr. Kalam also delivered a public
talk on “Sustainable Development Models for the Nation� on 12
December 2009. |
