The first batch of
Certificate Programme in Management (CPM) was inaugurated at IIM
Indore on December 15, 2009. The programme commenced with a five-day
campus visit module. This programme comprises of a combination of
online instructions in select cities and on-campus contact at IIM
Indore. The programme comprises of around 400 hours of instructions
divided into three modules.
In a brief
inaugural function, Prof. Neeraj Dwivedi, Chairperson – CPM,
welcomed the participants to the programme and congratulated them on
their selection. Prof. Dwivedi also briefed the participants about
the importance of the first campus phase. He urged the participants
to make maximum use of their short stay at campus.
The function was
presided by Prof. Ganesh Kumar N., who, in his inaugural address,
maintained that the participants have taken the right decision by
opting for this programme. The renewed growth shown by a large
number of industries after the global downturn is likely to create
huge demand for trained and skilled managerial talent. He also said
that the online-interactive technology has made it possible for IIM
Indore to make quality managmenent education reach various parts of
the country.
The on-campus
orientation programme of CPM will be held from December 15 – 19,
2009, which will prepare the participants for the online
instructions and expose them to basic management functions and
management pedagogy. The classes on online platform will begin in
January 2010.
CPM is of one-year
duration. It is intended to equip the participants with basic skills
and competencies that are required for progression to managerial and
supervisory positions in organizations.
