Indore Marathon 2010 – Run for an Educated India

Organized on October 2, 2010 Gandhi Jayanti, Indore Marathon is the proud statement of ‘Indore-ians’ against social issues still afflicting our country. An initiative by IIM Indore, the marathon has become an annual fixture for Indore city.
Every year, the Marathon is dedicated to a theme, the participants of IIM Indore and the citizens of Indore believe in. Themes like Education, Green Environment and Peace have been the themes unifying the spirit of togetherness, endurance and determination emanating from marathon participants.
In a run-up to Indore Marathon 2010, Jagriti - an essay writing competition on 26th Sept. 2010 saw participation of 150 students from various schools including Choithram International, MBS Academy and Laurels International.
The Marathon race was in 3 categories - an ‘Education Run’ for males, an ‘Education Run’ for females and a ‘Dream Run’ common for all above 12 years of age. ‘Education Run’ was 11 km long and starting from Dussehra Maidan and culminating at IIM Indore campus. ‘Dream Run’ was for 3 km long around the campus.
The event saw huge participation from Indore-ians, young and old, from all sections of society. The winners were Mr. Ajay Kumar Patel in men and Ms. Arati Yadav in women category respectively. Also the winners of essay competition were facilitated.
