CERTIFICATE PROGRAMME IN MANAGEMENT (CPM)

IIM Indore’s new one-year certificate programme is intended to equip the participants with basic skills and competencies that are required for progression to managerial and supervisory positions in organizations. The programme is offered on an online, interactive platform with classrooms located at various cities in India. The delivery of the programme across these cities gives flexibility to participants to study while working. The programme is highly interactive by design due to the two way video and audio provisions and the presence of other options like chat, discussion board and e-mail. Apart from developing individual and interpersonal managerial skills, the programme develops competencies in key functional areas of management. 

A number of industries in India are right now in a state of flux. Though currently in an emerging state, these industries are likely to show tremendous growth in the years to come. These industries are likely to create enormous demand for trained and skilled managerial talent. The existing postgraduate and executive postgraduate programmes in management offered by several premier business schools are not able to optimally meet this requirement. In addition, these programmes do not match-up with the specific requirement of these emerging sectors, which need less of in-depth management concepts, but more of skills and competencies. This programme aims to fill this void in the management education and would specifically benefit those, who are currently working or aspire to build a career in the following industries:
 

The prospective candidate should be Graduate in any discipline and should have appeared for CAT conducted by IIMs either in 2007 or 2008. There is no requirement of prior work experience. Candidates with two or more years of work experience in the above industries will have an advantage in the selection process.

The programme is of one-year duration. It comprises of about 400 hrs of contact classes. These classes comprise of a combination of online instructions in select cities and on-campus contact. The courses are divided into three modules. The first module comprises of foundation level courses in management while the next two modules focus on courses on concepts and skills and domain specific courses in management respectively:

Module-1:   Foundation courses – 210 hrs

Module-2:  Courses on concepts and skills – 90 hrs

Module-3:  Domain specific courses – 90 hrs

Participants will get opportunity to visit IIM Indore campus once or twice for about 5 days each and will get to attend classes in campus as well as interact with faculty for clarification of their doubts. Apart from these campus visits the students may also get opportunity to interact with faculty in few selected cities nearer to their city of residence during the programme.

The programme pedagogy involves interactive lectures and presentations intertwined with case discussions, experience sharing, student assignments and projects. Apart from the instructions from the programme faculty, the students get tremendous opportunity to learn from the peer group, which brings diversity in terms of industry, job profile, age and roles with it.

The total fee for the programme is Rs. 3,25,000/-. An additional amount of Rs.25,000 will be charged towards tuition, boarding and lodging expenses for the campus visit module. The participants, however, will have to bear the travel expenses to attend the campus module at Indore. The fee is payable in four equal quarterly installments

Application Form can be downloaded from IIM Indore website from August 08, 2009 onwards. Completed application form should reach the below mentioned address by October 24, 2009. Selected candidates will be informed of their selection by November 7, 2009.

Application forms could be downloaded free of cost from IIM Indore website, however, an application fee in the form of a demand draft of Rs.1500 only, drawn in favour of “Indian Institute of Management Indore”, payable at Indore should accompany the completed application form.
