Equit-I, the Finance and Investment Club formed by the PGP participants of IIM Indore focuses on driving initiatives in the field of finance and intends to further the employability of IIMI participants. The club strives to be an important partner in participant’s career development by creating learning opportunities and providing interface with industry. If a participant wants to update himself with the latest industry news or wants to increase his awareness levels in the financial and investment sector, it’s to Equit-I that he turns to.

The club actively follows the industry and tries to interface with banking and financial sector companies as well as non-financial companies for live projects related to finance. In the past, Equit-I has facilitated projects in Equity Research and Corporate Finance.

Equit-I assists participants in exploring financial career opportunities, by organizing workshops and interactive sessions on various financial topics and career panels specifically for finance careers. The club also assists participants in preparing for their summer and final placements by publishing special articles and newsletters.

Equit-I conducts Mantrana, the debate competition on recent issues in the field of finance. The debate intends to promote discussion among the participants on the latest events in the financial world. The club conducts Fin-Gurus, the finance quiz and stock trading event. Stock Arena, the stock trading part of Fin-Gurus, uses the open outcry trading platform, a method of trading that uses verbal bids and offers in the trading pits. Equit-I conducts Budget Eye, the forum for union budget analysis and discussion between professors and participants.

Equit-I organizes Finance League, during Ahvan, IIM Indore’s Management Festival. Finance League is one of the most successful events of Ahvan in terms of participation. It brings together the various domains of Finance under one umbrella to tests the sharpest and the brightest financial brains of India’s top B-schools in areas like Banking, Insurance, Equities and Derivatives. It includes online quiz, case study, Invested Interest – the stock market simulation game and Finopoly - a variation of the Board game Monopoly, the teams negotiate the twists and turns introduced at various points using calls, puts and finance trivia to capture monopoly in various industries.

Equit-I publishes the weekly newsletter Fin-ish Line, which includes not just business news but also views and critiques of participants on the recent issues in the field of finance. The club also conducts regular finance related quizzes.

The club also interfaces with other student committees and clubs to enhance the learning of participants in the field of finance. Equit-I members take lectures in fundamentals of finance for PGP1 participants.
