In line with IIM Indore’s focus on
developing socially sensitive and technically competent business
managers, who can contribute
not only to corporate excellence but also cater to the needs of the
crucial social sector in India, IIM Indore organized Indore B-School
League (IBL), a Socio-Management festival to create a positive impact on
the social and cultural environment in which it functions. IBL is a
first-of-its-kind event in the B-School circuit specially designed for
the MBA students from the city of Indore. It aims to provide a golden
opportunity to future managers to blend their management learning,
leadership qualities and awareness about the socio-economic milieu of
the city for addressing its pressing civic and social issues.
IBL v1.o was launched on December 5, 2010
and reached the climax on January 11. The event was open to the top 20
MBA colleges in Indore. Each college was represented by a team of 10
students for the major rounds. The events broadly comprised of real case
studies, campaigns, quizzes, puzzles and debates covering areas of
Marketing, Finance, Consulting, Human Resource, IT and Operations.
A unique structure was designed keeping
the special purpose of the event in mind. The event was conducted in
online format through the website. Social-Network media was also used to
make the event more interesting and make it more popular. There were
four rounds each spanning over a week, the teams worked on each issue
for a week and submitted their solutions through the online-portal.
Results in terms of ranking were released after each round. At the end
of the four rounds top four teams were selected and for the selection of
the fifth team there was a Challenger round. The Grand Finale among the
top five teams was conducted in the campus in the presence of city
Government Officials. |

provide the future managers of Indore, the exact flavour of the real
world by getting them exposed to the civic and social problems of the
city so that they can make Indore a better city to live in. |

potential role of Information and Communication technology (ICT) in
governance, meant to harbinger an effective, efficient and transparent
