Mercur-I

 

Mercur-I, the Marketing Club of IIM Indore, provides participants with opportunities to augment the classroom learning with real life application of the marketing concepts and to prepare them for a successful career in Marketing. The club do so by providing participants with assistance and mentorship through different events and activities, industry projects, and workshops throughout the year.

Activities and Events

Every month, club conducts different activities to keep participants abreast with the happenings in the Marketing domain and expand their skill set. To name a few:

  • Brand-Ed: Monthly quiz exclusively based on brands. The event was aimed at reinforcing the branding aspects of business and the real time knowhow on brands of the world.

  • Brand-Ext: The objective of the event was to come-up with the brand extension of a given set of brands.

  • Cheeze Mania: A live case study competition about crafting a Marketing Strategy for an online magazine client.

The club also facilitates interactions with eminent marketing professionals from industry and renowned academicians, through guest lectures and workshops. To ensure participants get first-hand experience of tackling marketing problems, the club mentors participants working on industry live projects.

 

Mark-Avenue – The Monthly Newsletter

 

How different is marketing in FMCG from that in Financial services? What marketing strategy Harley-Davidson adopted for Indian Consumers? How does Cadbury see Indian Rural Market? What are the latest trends in the marketing sphere? – The answers to all these and many other such questions are addressed in the club’s monthly newsletter – Mark-Avenue. The newsletter entails articles reflecting the latest trends in marketing spheres.

 

UtsAha!

 

UtsAha! was the flagship event of Mercur-I. Over the years, UtsAha! has become one of the biggest marketing fairs conducted by Indian Business schools. UtsAha! is a concept that aims to bridge the gap between a marketer's plans and the rural consumer's mind to provide solutions to marketers across different industries.

 

UtsAha! is organized each year in the heart of the city, where the public at large, with footfalls in the thousands, interacts with the participants of IIM Indore. The intent here is to provide research-based solutions to live corporate problems in the field of marketing. Corporate utilize the potential of UtsAha! through the various mediums available like research projects, promotional campaigns, and product launches.
