The PGP participants of IIM Indore come from a variety of educational backgrounds. They are selected through an exacting process and are among the top 10% of thousands of candidates appearing for CAT. A typical batch comprises engineers, science graduates, commerce graduates, economics graduates, pharmacists, doctors, etc. The batch has an equally diverse work experience profile with participants with prior experience as bankers, software engineers, event managers, lecturers, professionals of NGOs, etc. This diversity helps the participants develop a capacity to appreciate differences and work as a team. The participants manage their activities through an elected body christened SWAC (Student's Welfare and Activities Council). The life here provides a mixture of rigorous academic pursuits and avenues for relaxing through their life in the hostels and the various informal activities.
