National Instruments, a Texas-based Multi-national Company will be honoring IIM Indore’s Alumni (PGP 2009), Mr. Sundar Balakrishna for the esteemed efforts he has put in bringing the ‘Internet of Things’ (IoT) technologies to the students of rural Andhra Pradesh. Mr. Balakrishna, currently the CEO, Institute of e-Governance will be honored in the presence of a 5000-strong community of technology leaders, innovators, and educationists during the NI Week, The Global Graphical System Design Conference to be held at Austin, Texas on August 1-4, 2016.
‘My initiative so far on IoT-related pedagogy in the state was based on a revenue model, where we procure proprietary licenses for IoT technologies, and offer it on a subsidized pay-by-use basis, to meritorious, but economically backward students of the engineering colleges in our state. We recover the license cost from registration fees from the college managements. We hire and bear the cost of the licensed trainers. I evolved this pedagogic model while researching for the PGP course ‘Economics of Network Industries’, which I taught to Term 6 students at IIM Indore’, mentions Mr. Balakrishna.
The NIWeek will also be hosting the Academic Forum, which provides an exclusive platform for academic professionals and decision makers to share the best practices in engineering education methodologies, discuss the future of engineering and research and network with colleagues from around the world. Mr. Balakrishna is also invited to address these educators about the next level strategy for IoT-based initiatives.
He has also been asked to address educators from around the world in this industry-cum-academic forum about the next level strategy for IoT-based initiatives.
