IIM Indore added one more feather in its cap by becoming the first IIM to conduct a summit in the US on Innovations and Make in India in the United States on September 11, 2015. This summit brought together Industry representatives from the US and Indian companies and academicians from both the countries.
The Summit was inaugurated by Dean of McCombs School of Business, Dr Jay Hartzell and Professor Rishikesha T. Krishnan, Director, IIM Indore. Renowned experts on marketing and emerging economies, Professor Vijay Mahajan and John P. Harbin delivered talks on the theme of the summit. Mr. Pravathaneni Harish, Consul General of India, Houston delivered an insightful talk on business opportunities in India and the policy initiatives being implemented by the Indian Government.Some of the other speakers of the Summit included Mr. Mohammed Farooq, Founder,Gravitant, Mr. ArunKhurana, Head, Digital Wipro, Dr. Jeffrey Tew, Chief Scientist and Head, TCS Innovation Labs, Mr. Rama Mohan Rao, CEO of State Bank of India, Chicago office, Professor Prashant Salwan, Chair EPGP, IIM Indore, Dr. Linda Gerber, Chair CIBER(global information technology consulting, services and outsourcing company) and Professor Raji Shrinivasan, Professor of Marketing.
Participants of the seventh batch of the EPGP were also present on the occasion. IIM Indore has a partnership with McCombs Business School, University of Texas, Austin, USA, wherein EPGP participants undergo one full term course on contemporary topics.
