There is no denying that poor mental health is one of the most significant issues facing employers today. Modern workforces face a variety of new challenges from ‘always-on’ cultures and fast-paced lifestyles to worries about being replaced by new technologies. All these stresses and strains can lead to sickness absence, increased staff turnover, low morale and productivity. In a way, stress has become an integral and inevitable part of personal and professional lives. This has a direct bearing on performance as well as the quality of life at home and at work. The emotional state of employees is just as important as physical health in terms of workforce well-being. This programme will engage in a series of challenges designed to manage stress and enhance well-being.
The programme aims to bring awareness about what is and is ‘not’ stress and allow participants to engage in introspection to better understand themselves and generate self-awareness. This will also include diagnoses of current levels of stress and well-being. It will aid in managing emotions and altering the coping strategies to deal with stress. It will reveal the misconceptions about well-being and happiness, annoying features of the mind that lead us to think the way we do. This programme will facilitate in building resources to manage and cope with stress (personal and professional life) which will include how and when to alter, accept and avoid stress and related situations. Based on a strength-based approach, the participants will uncover their strengths, virtues and ways to capitalise on them to shield during the turbulent times. The overall objective of this programme is to prepare the participants to successfully incorporate and internalise effective strategies to enrich their life, work and relationships.
