With an objective to celebrate the contribution of the women of the IIM Indore community, the institute celebrated International Women’s Day on March 08, 2022. The event’s inauguration took place in the presence of Chief Guest, Ms. Shanu Mehta, Founder – NGO Arthasangini; Prof. Madhusri Srivastava; Prof. Shweta Kushal; Prof. Surbhi Dayal and Col. Gururaj Pamidi (Retd), CAO, IIM Indore.
Prof. Himanshu Rai, Director, IIM Indore, also shared his warm wishes on occasion through a video. He noted that women are the main power behind creating, maintaining, and harmonizing the earth. ‘Today, women play a vital role in every sector, right from education to reference, medical, technology, IT, etc. He said that they had demonstrated their strength, capabilities, and esteem power to contribute to every domain, nation’s development, and world. The contribution of women is of infinite importance to all and is the essence of our progress. ‘I thank all the women of the IIM Indore community for their contribution and commitment to the institute and wish them on this occasion,’ he concluded.
A guest talk on the Significance of a Woman’s Financial Literacy and Independence was conducted by Ms. Shanu Mehta. She gave information about various types of savings and budgeting. During the interactive session, she also asked the women their ways of financial management. She briefed them about several government schemes, including Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Laadli Lakshmi Yojna, Ujjwala, etc. The guest talk concluded with a quiz, wherein Ms. Mehta asked some interesting questions that enhanced women’s knowledge and awareness.
Several games and fun activities were also organized on this occasion. The events were coordinated by Ms. Rachana Pamidi; Ms. Ananya Mishra; Ms. Hridaya Vyas, Ms. Bushra Khan, and Ms. Madhu Rana. Prizes were also distributed to the winners. The day concluded with enthusiasm and happiness amongst all the women of the community.
