With an objective to create awareness about terrorism, IIM Indore community members observed Anti-Terrorism Day on May 21, 2019. Faculty and staff members gathered to promote peace, humanity and unity among the citizens of our country.
The event commenced with the welcome address by Mr. Jigar Kantharia, Officer, Safety, IIM Indore. He then shared the purpose of the pledge and invited Col. Gururaj Gopinath Pamidi (Retd), CAO, IIM Indore to share his views on terrorism.
Col. Pamidi noted that we as citizens of India should observe each and every day as anti-terrorism day and remain aware about our surroundings and the happenings. ‘We need to change the mentality that being a citizen, we do not have any duty towards the nation and that terrorism is something to be taken care of only by the intelligence and security agencies. Remain alert, cautious and aware and help the nation fight the menace of terrorism’, he said.
The community then took a pledge to oppose all forms of terrorism and violence and uphold and promote peace, social harmony and understanding among all the human beings.
