Mahatma Gandhi dreamt of an India which is not only free but also clean and developed. Keeping the same thought in mind, as directed by MHRD, Government of India, IIM Indore is also observing the Swachhata Pakhwada from January 16-31, 2020.
To start the fortnight, Institute conducted a Swachhata Pledge on Thursday, January 16, 2020. Led by Mr. Jigar Kantharia, Officer, IIM Indore, the community members pledged to remain committed to cleanliness and dedicate 100 hours per year for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in their surroundings. The members also pledged to neither throw garbage nor let anyone litter around.
Col. Gururaj Gopinath Pamidi (Retd.), CAO, IIM Indore also noted that it’s the duty of every citizen of the nation to take steps towards building a clean nation. ‘We should develop a habit to maintain clean environment and surroundings. We should be passionate about living in the cleanest city of the country and ensure that we not only keep our homes, campus and surroundings clean but also stop the ones who litter’, he said.
The event was attended by the administrative staff and students of IIM Indore.
