Bringing laurels to the institute, a team comprising of participants from IPM, and PGP have won the Myntra Stylbiz Competition 2021. Marul Tripathy (IPM 2017), Urvi Sharvani (IPM 2017) and Utkarsh Dongre (PGP 2020-22) from team ‘Digital Blue Jays’ competed with over 5000 participants in the first round and made it to the final round with seven shortlisted teams. Competing in three phases spread over two months, the IIM Indore team was declared the national winner on November 19, 2021, thereby bagging a cash prize of Rs. 2 Lakh.
During the competition, the participants were required to submit their big idea for a chosen problem statement and delve deep into its details and implementation plan as the rounds progressed. The competition demanded the participants to act as product managers for their proposed ideas and create a comprehensive plan. IIM Indore team spent 300+ hours and ensured reaching out to past contestants and interacting with customers and fashion influencers to understand their views and carry out efficient quantitative market research. The team’s expertise in handling data and extracting actionable insights, the ability to create a logical structure and visualizing solutions, and slide writing and product mock-ups played an integral role in their triumph.
