The cultural, management and literary fest of IIM Indore, IRIS was held on November 22-24, 2019. With multiple events ranging from dance, drama, singing, arts & crafts, leadership event, quizzes, workshops, etc.; the fest saw a footfall of over 3000 participants.
The inauguration took place in the presence of Dr. Ramesh Chand (Member of Niti Aayog and Minister of State Rank), Mr. Prabhu Chawla (Padma Bhushan Awardee and Editorial Director at The New India Express) and Professor Himanshu Rai, Director, IIM Indore. Mr. Chand explained different aspects of agriculture both in present scenario as well as future. Mr. Prabhu taught the participants about journalism. Professor Rai then congratulated the team for organizing the fest smoothly and also beautifully explained the concepts of interpersonal and intrapersonal skills which help everyone in every phase of their lives.
The three day fest witnessed various management and literary competitions and the level of enthusiasm and excitement kept increasing with every round scheduled across the campus. The events included flagship events like Ashwamedha, Drona, Advaita etc. The cultural events like Voice of Indore (singing competition), Laavanya (fashion show competition) also saw some exceptional talents from in and around Indore. Other events included Mantrana, Jagriti, Zero One Infinity, Jigyasa, Gordian Knot, Chanakya, Distrortion, My Campaign, etc.
The fest also had Jagriti workshop conducted by Pragati- the social sensitivity cell of IIM Indore. As a part of Jagriti, a lot of different workshops on Best out of Waste, Clay modeling, Painting, etc., were conducted for the children to bring out the hidden talents in them. Along with this, the students of the institute donated several gifts for the children of the nearby government schools. The event was successful in bringing about a smile on the children’s face.
The second day had a Bollywood night which featured Mr. Sachet Tandon and Ms. Parampara Thakur, the singers of Bekhyali song from movie Kabir Singh.
The third day witnessed a Dance Workshop by Mr. Rakshit Yadav (Maestro of Classical, Folk and Bollywood dance, honoured with National Nritya Pratibha) and Mr. Vickey Dubey (Founder choreographer and owner of DXB dance studio with over 80k subscribers on YouTube). Mr. Madhusudan Patidar, international mountaineer, adventurer and explorer from the Rau region of Indore also interacted with the participants.
The final day and 19th edition of IRIS 2019 ended with Sunburn campus festival where participants grooved on the music beats of DJ Paranox and DJ Smitz. And with this, the flagship annual management and cultural festival of IIM Indore concluded.
