The Management Development Programme (MDP) for Cambodian participants began at IIM Indore on December 23, 2019. The batch consists of 24 Officers of Ministry of Justice and Judges of Cambodian Judiciary. The five-day MDP would be focussing on Leadership Motivation.
The inauguration of the programme took place with the lamp lighting ceremony in the presence of all registered participants; Professor Ranjeet Nambudiri, Dean, Academics and Professor Prashant Salwan, Chair, MDP. Professor Nambudiri welcomed the participants and
shared his views on the ‘Iceberg Model of Competencies’. He noted that just like the iceberg in the ocean, leadership also requires multiple skills—some of which are easy to change and some are not. ‘The competencies like knowledge—analytical and functional are easy to change. However the skills, which are considered below the iceberg, which include leadership, being a team player, social consciousness, maintaining values and ethical conduct and knowing the motives, need to be practised upon and changed with time’, he said. He also said that the programme aims to focus on ‘below the iceberg skills’ and will sensitize the participants towards those competencies.
The inaugural concluded with a group photograph with Professor Himanshu Rai, Director, IIM Indore. He welcomed the participants and wished them a happy stay on campus.
