IIM Indore’s Psychology Interest Club Zephyr organised a workshop on the theme: ‘Communication as You Never Saw It Before’ on September 25, 2015. Mr. Sandeep Atre, one of the Founder-Directors of CH EdgeMakers was the chief guest for the workshop.
Mr. Atre while sharing his experience ranging from recruitments to academics, clubbed with management & entrepreneurship, explained that communication is something which is the core for every field you belong to. He emphasised that communication is not something that can be summed up in words. It is way beyond using words and is related to emotions as well. He illustrated the importance of emotional energy transactions using eye contact.
Mentioning about the changing scenario and advancement in technology, he said that we spend more time chatting with someone online, rather than talking to someone in-person. ‘Start looking at people, and increase ‘in-line’ interactions than online ones’, Mr. Atre advised.
The workshop was followed by an interactive session with the students wherein they discussed about a variety of topics related to psychology and gained useful insights on communicating effectively.
