With an objective to facilitate the participants to gain insights from the industry experts and enhance their knowledge and skills, SAMPARK – a guest talk was conducted online on December 19, 2021. SAMPARK was organized by Aarohan – the student body of the Post Graduate Programme in Management for Working Executives – PGPMX. Mr. Amit Singh, Manager – Strategic Operations, Google; Mr. Kartik Aggarwal, Assistant Digital Manager, Digital Transformation and Strategic PMO, Deepak Fertilizers; and Mr. Vipul Jain CSCP, Associate Director, Cipla were the speakers for the event. The session was moderated by Prof. Prashant Salwan, Chair-Industry Interface Office and Faculty, IIM Indore.
Prof. Prashant Salwan shared his thoughts on digital transformation and its impact on the competitive landscape. He noted that digital transformation has narrowed down the divide between the industry sectors and customer experience with the technical advancements. He also highlighted the significance of the digital age with increasing opportunities.
Mr. Amit Singh spoke about the transition of the internet from Web 1.0 to Web 2.0. He threw light on how we are at the cusp of various technologies amalgamating to cerate Web 3.0. While web 2.0 was dominated by a few mage players, web 3.0 is expected to be a decentralized system, and a race to acquire digital assets has already begun with digital tokens, he said.
Mr. Kartik Aggarwal shared the transformative journey of the power sector and how digital transformation has impacted the entire value chain. He said that the digital transformation had affected every aspect of the power sector, including generation and consumption.
Mr. Vipul Jain drew the participants’ attention towards the importance of implementing successful digital transformation projects. He also shared his views on the impact of digital transformation on the strategy of any organization. He said that people, processes, and technologies go hand in hand and cannot be separated, especially in the age of digital transformation.
The event was attended by the participants from various executive education programmes like PGPMX, EPDP, EPGP, and PGCPIB.
