The second batch of Advanced Management Programme for Corporate Leaders – AMPCL, began at IIM Indore on February 13, 2022. The virtual inauguration took place in the presence of Chief Guest Mr. Rajagopalan Purushotam, Sr. VP RIL. Prof. Prashant Salwan, Programme Coordinator, AMPCL, and Mr. Darayas Mehta, Director, VCNow were also present on occasion.
Mr. Purushotam, in his address, spoke to the participants about the significance of consistency in learning and extrospection. Congratulating the new batch, he said, ‘It is important to keep updating your knowledge and skills even after you are settled in your corporate journey. If you don’t use and update your knowledge in this VUCA world, you would not be able to perform efficiently.’ He advised the participants to start implementing their learnings in their organizations simultaneously, for it would help them understand the practical implementations of the knowledge they would gain during the programme. Sharing the significance of ‘introspection,’ the ability that helps a person understand their purpose, Mr. Purushotam threw light upon ‘extrospection’ – the skill to understand the circumstances, situations, people, and customer behavior and decision making. ‘Extrospection is enhanced by education, and hence, learning plays a significant role in leadership positions. Extrospection provides a person with a broader perspective and thus helps make the correct decisions’, he explained.
Prof. Prashant Salwan briefed the participants about the curriculum. He noted that the programme demystifies advanced management concepts across various business functions through use-cases and in a discussion-led manner, blending theory and practical implementation.
Mr. Darayas Mehta welcomed the new batch and congratulated them on enrolling in the programme at this stage of their career. He said this is a new age programme for developing future leaders in a disruptive environment. AMPCL aims at developing leadership acumen, strategic thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills required to manage the businesses in today’s world, he said.
