The inauguration of the second batch of Certificate Programme in Project Management (CPPM) began at IIM Indore on August 08, 2021. The inauguration took place in the presence of Prof. Rohit Kapoor, Programme Coordinator; Prof. Sushanta K Mishra, Dean-Programmes; Prof. Subin Sudhir, Chair, Executive Education and all the registered 160 participants in online mode.
Prof. Rohit Kapoor welcomed the new batch and gave a brief introduction to IIM Indore and its programmes. Discussing CPPM, he said that this programme will help the participants balance the critical tradeoffs of time, cost and scope to meet customer expectations. ‘Most projects, even at successful companies tend to go over budget and take longer than anticipated. This programme focuses on teaching the participants proven strategies and practical hands-on tools to drive successful project outcomes’, he said.
Prof. Sushanta Mishra mentioned that the programme is contextually relevant and has been designed in line with the mission statement of the Institute. Advising the participants to learn from their experiences, he said, ‘How do we learn to walk, talk and solve problems? We learn from our experiences. Apart from the techniques and tools related to project management, this programme will give you experiences while interacting with your peers and faculty. Learning happens when you try to take one step ahead of knowing things. Therefore, learn from these experiences.’
Prof. Subin Sudhir said that this programme is an online learning programme that focuses on specific aspects related to the workplace. He gave a brief of all the executive programmes at IIM Indore. ‘The key to living a successful life is being happy at the end of the day. When you invest in the programme, make sure you are happy with the learning and gaining the knowledge’, he said.
The six-month programme will be conducted in both online and offline mode (for a few sessions) on campus and will help the participants understand project management with a focus on real business use cases. It will also help the participants to gain an understanding of the tools and techniques to manage the comprehensive project management life cycle for a project – from initiation through closing.
The inauguration concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. Kapoor.
