Dr. Neeta Nagar (FPM Batch 2012) visited IIM Indore on September 08, 2019 and delivered a special talk on Financial Services Industry with Technology Disruptions. Dr. Nagar is currently the Managing Director at Nordics Technology Delivery Lead for FS (Accenture group) and is based out of Finland leading the business transformation, system integration and maintenance programs across banking and insurance domain for the region.
Dr. Nagar said that Fin-tech is disrupting the banking industry in the current scenario and discussed about the fact that traditional banks need to evolve to survive. She explained how banks are increasingly venturing into new businesses like block-chain, artificial intelligence and augmented reality. She also talked about different ways to go forward for banks like collaborating with fin-tech startups or acquiring them. According to her, data is the biggest asset that banks have and they can leverage this strength in future. She guided the participants on what banks are looking for in new employees and how one should think about these factors while aspiring for a career in Finance.
The talk was attended by PGP Participants and was a fruitful one, as it provided them an opportunity to interact not only with an expert but also an IIM Indore alumni.
