The Industry Interface Office (IIC) at IIM Indore organized a Guest Talk on the topic—‘HR Initiatives for Managing Attrition’ on July 29, 2017. The talk was conducted by Professor Srinath Jagganathan, Faculty, IIM Indore and an expert in the area of Organizational Behaviour and Human Resource Management. The talk witnessed participation of eminent industrialists from Pithampur and Indore region, Faculty Members, and participants from various programmes of the Institute.
The talk revolved around various effective methods to manage attrition at the workplace. Professor Jagannathan emphasized that one of the ways in which attrition can be managed is by introducing continuous learning frameworks inside organizations. The quality of leader-member exchange can also impact attrition in significant ways, he added. He particularly said, ‘Employees feel more engaged with their organizations if they find space for expressing a variety of emotions.’
The three-hour long talk revolved around various HR initiatives and emphasized on cultures of autonomy and presence of authentic relationships for creating a climate of productivity at workplace. Overall, the lecture was very fruitful for the interactive audience. The session concluded with Q&A.
