IRIS is the annual Management-Cultural Festival at IIM-Indore. Begun in 2001, it now has as its own legacy, with a premise to get bigger and better, with each passing year. It is an amalgamation of creativity and action, with participation by top talents and the best brains from across the country on one single platform. Students from top Institutes head over to Indore, each November to partake in the fun and learning at IRIS, IIM-Indore.
IRIS began in 2001 and grew slowly but steadily, adding new events each year. In 2008 it was split into two separate events- Mridang, the Cultural Fest and Ahvan, the Management Fest. This set-up continued until 2013 when IRIS was reborn, one entity as a merger of the two.
At IRIS, IIM Indore sets out in its quest to find the future business leaders across various domains. The events at IRIS have evolved over a period of time to include several themes spread across various management aspects, be it finance, business consulting, operations, HR or sales and marketing. Some of the flagship events at IRIS include Ashwamedha, Neetishastra, Chanakya, Klueless, Gordian Knot and Kalpavriksha. Our cultural events include Lavanya (Fashion Show), Laasya (Dance), Voice of Indore (Singing) and Distortion (Rock Show).
It has also witnessed the presence of several notable speakers ranging from the Chief Economist at Crisil, Mr. D. K. Joshi to the Head, Strategy Marketing at HCL, Mr. Krishnan Chatterjee and Brand Consultant, Mr. Amit Shrivastava graced the event.
Almost every year, IRIS sets out on a quest to establish a new or break an existing Guinness World Record. It has proved its mettle by successfully attempting to create Largest Mosaic of soap in association with HUL, Largest mosaic of condoms in association with ManForce (current record holders), Largest Glass Mosaic, Largest mosaic of postcards, etc. With these events, IIM Indore has attempted to touch upon several initiatives in the social sector, alongwith Jagriti (Social Club) reaching out to the under-privileged school children in and around the city of Indore under the purview of IRIS.
IRIS 2018 was the first theme-based version so far. Adopting the theme of ‘Futurism’, IRIS 2018 depicted a perspective of futuristic elements ranging from innovations and disruptions to evolving technology and management mantras.
IRIS also witnesses involvement of various artists, like KK, Nikhil Chinapa, The Local Train band, DJ Seezi, Comedian Aakash Mehta, Mentalist Divyansh Apurv and many more.
All these events were covered by the leading dailies such as Business Standard, Times of India, The Indian Express, DainikBhaskar, NaiDuniya etc., along with other Media Partners like MyFM, WittyFeed, etc.
