IIM Indore inaugurated two online learning programmes on January 23, 2021. These programmes namely, Certificate Programme in Fintech and Financial Blockchain (CPFFB) and Executive Programme in Digital Transformation (EPDT) are being conducted in collaboration with TSW Times Professional Learning. The inauguration took place virtually in the presence of Professor Ranjeet Nambudiri, Dean-Programmes, IIM Indore; Professor Prashant Salwan, Chairperson, Executive Education; Professor Shubhamoy Dey, Programme Coordinator-CPFFB; Professor Saurabh Kumar & Professor Sanjog Ray, Faculty Coordinators-EPDT and Mr. Anish Srikrishna, CEO, TSW Times Professional Learning; and all the participants registered for the programme.
Professor Ranjeet Nambudiri welcomed the batches and mentioned that there could be no better time to enrol in online programmes. Sharing his views about Digital Transformation, he mentioned that every business is trying to become a digital enterprise because transformation allows in connecting better with customers; make better decisions and is an integral part of the business strategy today. ‘It is not just about technology implementation in a firm but also a mindset change’, he said. Discussing about Fintech and Financial Blockchain, he said India is the fastest growing market in terms of Fintech, Digital Transactions, etc. and despite the pandemic, the rate at which India is growing is remarkable.
Professor Prashant Salwan said that we may be aware of the technology, but the future requirement is a mix of digital technology and humans. ‘The programme provides an opportunity to gain the skills required for this navigation and helps in implementing the digital transformation’, he said. Discussing about Fintech, he noted that finance has been upgraded—specially in banking sector. ‘This programme will be beneficial in understanding these transformational changes and bringing the finance experts together on the same platform with this diverse batch’, he said.
The faculty coordinators for the respective programmes shared insights on the course curriculum. They noted that the Institute ensures to update the curriculum in a way which is contextually relevant and is helpful for the working executives. They discussed how Digital Transformation and Fintech has evolved and created an impact in our daily lives by squeezing the span of time spent on various tasks, eliminating the location constraints and also expanding the reach. They mentioned that both the programmes have participants from diverse fields which would enable them to learn from each-others experiences as well.
Mr. Anish Srikrishna, CEO, TSW, Times Professional Learning congratulated the participants for choosing this programme. He noted that IIM Indore has been ranked 7th in the NIRF Ranking and is front running B-School with triple crown accreditation. Sharing his views on Digital Transformation, he said, ‘Technology has changed the way we live. The areas like AI, 3D printing, robotics etc. are fascinating and have disrupt the businesses. We need to understand what this means to our companies, careers and how this will affect the business in the future.’ This programme will be beneficial for the participants with the rich curriculum; and also, because the batch is a mix of diverse educational background and culture, he added. He noted that Fintech was earlier used for back office functions but now it has transformed how the banks operate. ‘Fintech has taken a centre stage with emphasis on mobile user interfaces’, he said.
The event concluded with a participant interaction session wherein they got a chance to interact with the programme coordinators and get insights on the curriculum.
