The Induction Programme for the Second Batch of Post Graduate Program in Management (PGP), IIM Sambalpur was held on July 25, 2016 with all the 49 (9 girls and 40 boys) students registered for the programme and the students from first batch of PGP.
Shri L. N. Gupta, Principal Secretary, Department of Skill Development & Technical Education, Government of Odisha was the Chief Guest for the inaugural ceremony. Professor Pawan Kumar Singh, Nodal Officer, IIM Sambalpur; Professor Pradeep Kumar Mishra, Director, Silicon Institute of Technology, Sambalpur; and Professor V. K. Gupta, IIM Indore were also present during the function.
The programme commenced with the formal lamp lighting ceremony. The guests congratulated the new batch for its achievement and making it to IIM Sambalpur. Shri L.N. Gupta, in his talk focused on the status and importance of PGP and advised the students to learn not only within the class and from books, but also acquire various skills from their batch-mates. This was followed by an orientation session on the details of the PGP including inputs on academics, rules and regulations and other related issues. The session was conducted by Mr. Amrut Mohanty, PGP Officer, IIM Sambalpur and Professor P.K. Singh.
Mr. Mohsin Raja, Library Professional Assistant; Mr. Vijay Dadlani, Coordination Officer & Mr. Manish Namdeo from Admissions Office, IIM Indore were also present at the function.
The induction programme gave the new batch an opportunity to learn about their course curriculum, know their faculty and the batch-mates. The function was followed by an outing to the town of Sambalpur, which concluded with dinner at the Institute.
