Prof. Saurabh Chandra has done his FPM from IIM Lucknow. His doctoral thesis was in the field of maritime logistics. Before joining the doctoral programme at IIM Lucknow, he has worked with Mitsui OSK Lines as an Assistant Marine Engineer and as Chief Engineer with Ocean Sparkle Ltd. and COMACOE ltd.
He is the co-founding member of the Maritime Logistics Research Group at IIM Indore and does extensive research and consulting on various areas of logistics management. His core strengths are strategic and tactical analysis of planning and scheduling problems in logistics industry using mathematical programming and simulation. Transportation policy analysis is another related area where he is actively pursuing his research interest.
His current research interests include maritime logistics and mathematical optimization, analysing supply chain policies and performance of Indian retail firms through financial data, and automotive logistics in India. His teaching interests include Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Operations Research, Service Operations Management and Business Statistics.
