The Induction Programme of the sixth batch of Post Graduate Programme in Management at IIM Indore—Mumbai Campus was held on July 15, 2017. Mr. Abhay Prasad Hota, MD & CEO, National Payments Corporation of India was the Chief Guest for the event. The event was also graded by Dr. Archana Upadhyay, Manager—HR, HPCL.
The event commenced with the lamp lighting ceremony by the guests along with Professor Rishikesha T. Krishnan, Director, IIM Indore, Professor Meenakshi Aggarwal Gupta, Chair, PGP Mumbai and Professor Swatantra, Co-Chair, PGP Mumbai. Professor Krishnan then welcomed the students and acquainted them with various aspects of the programme. He also spoke about the advantages of being in the vibrant and industrial city of Mumbai, and how the participants could leverage the location advantage.
This was followed by an address by Mr. Hota. His talk revolved around the growing importance of digital payments, and also the initiatives taken towards a cashless society on account of the recent demonetization activity carried out by the government. He provided the participants insights to NPCI’s contribution to the country’s vision of a cashless economy, and expressed his eagerness to educate the participants.
Professor Meenakshi Aggarwal Gupta then briefed the participants about the programme, pedagogy and course structure. Professor Bipul Kumar, Faculty, IIM Indore also conducted a session on case-based method of learning.
The participants then received necessary inputs on Gender Sensitivity, Plagiarism and Anti-Ragging regulations from Professor Swatantra. A briefing on Library Facilities was also provided by Mr. Gopal Singh Jadon, Assistant Librarian. The day concluded with an interaction between the first year and second year participants.
