IIM Indore conducted the campus quarterfinals round of one of the most coveted B- School
competition, Hult Prize 2018 on November 19, 2017. Also hailed as the ‘Nobel Prize for the
Students’, the competition seeks to identify budding entrepreneurs and support the launch of
their business solutions for solving social issues. The theme for this year was ‘Harnessing the
power of energy to transform the lives of 10 million people’. The winners of each year get a
startup capital of 1 million USD; along with mentorship from international community and
membership of the prestigious Clinton Global Initiative. The competition is organized by Clinton
Global Initiative in collaboration with Hult Business School and entrepreneur Bertil Hult. It
witnesses participation from around 50,000 universities all across the globe.
The quarterfinals round of the campus was judged by a jury comprising Professor Srinivas
Gunta, Faculty, Strategy Management, IIM Indore and Ms. Marlina Ramchandran, Senior
Manager, Wadhwani Foundation. The 6 teams competing to reach the regional rounds had to
identify social problems and recommend feasible solutions for the same. The teams presented
unique ideas for solving the problems in various domains including agriculture, water access,
traffic system, education system.
Team ‘Energizers’ were declared the campus winners of IIM Indore, who would now directly
reach one of the 15 regional rounds, thereby getting closer to the finals. IIM Indore
congratulates the team and wishes them all the best for future rounds.
