The third year students of IIM Indore’s Integrated Program in Management went on an Industry Visit to Mumbai during February 16-18, 2016. The visit was organized by the course’s Industry Interaction Cell.
A total of seventy five students visited multiple organizations, including Star Union Dai-ichi, Reserve Bank of India, CISCO, Yes Bank, IDBI Bank and ICRA, and learned about organizational issues, projects, regulatory mechanisms, marketing and product differentiation. Topics ranged from banking regulations, forex mechanism and oversight to insurance, credit rating and debt markets, and the Make in India initiative amongst others. The students also visited the Make in India seminar being organized by the Government at the iconic Gateway of India. There, the students got a glimpse of various initiatives by companies and the government for projects like the Smart City Campaign.
The trip proved to be one of immense learnings and provided deeper insights into what awaits management students as they step into their careers and in the process made them look forward more eagerly towards their respective futures.
