The Alumni Committee of IIM Indore successfully organized ‘Genesis-Founder’s Reunion,’ a reunion of the first three batches of the institute on February 06, 2022. The event was conducted in online mode. The reunion showed a high turnout, with 60 alumni attending the event.
Prof. Himanshu Rai, Director, IIM Indore, inaugurated the event with an informative talk about how IIM Indore remains a contextually-relevant business school contributing to community and nation-building. He discussed how the institute’s alumni could contribute to this journey. He also emphasized the importance of engaging alumni in the institute’s continuing efforts to become the top business school in the world.
The Alumni Chair, Professor Ganesh N., also addressed the alumni reflecting on the institute’s journey to becoming the second business school with triple international accreditations, the contribution of the founding batches, and the new initiatives taken up to increase alumni engagement. These include the Alumni Association, Global Executive Committee, Chapter Executive Committees, Alumni Talk Series ‘Pragya,’ and the Alumni Newsletter.
Prof. Amit Gupta, Prof. Pradyumana Kholke, Prof. Pranab Kumar Pani, Prof. Sougata Ray, and Prof. L. V. Ramana shared their insights and anecdotes from the institute’s early years with the alumni.
An informal open house was conducted where alumni shared their experiences during their time at IIM Indore, along with the culture and traditions of the student community that sustains to this day.
A virtual campus tour and pictures of the old campus were also shared with the alumni. The Alumni Committee organized an informal game to test the memory of the alums from their days on campus, which saw enthusiastic participation by the alumni.
The current IPM and PGP participants got a platform to interact with the alumni. They shared their insights about the corporate world, entrepreneurship, career choices after MBA, online and distance learning, etc., which provided insights to the young minds as they prepare themselves to and more.
