The Indian Institute of Management Indore (IIM Indore) celebrated the 73rd Republic Day on January 26, 2022, with full patriotic zeal and enthusiasm. Prof. Himanshu Rai, Director, IIM Indore, unfurled the tricolour. The entire central lawn resonated with the spellbinding National Anthem sung by all the community members, including faculty and students staff and their family members.
In his Republic Day address, Prof. Rai persuaded the community to ‘DARE’ and build the new India, which we can visualize in 2047, and how IIM Indore can contribute to this motive. Explaining further, he said, the D of the DARE implies ‘Dreams’. IIM Indore dreams to offer contextually relevant and world-class academics to its socially conscious participants. ‘Our every initiative, every step should focus on achieving our dream, which also helps us contribute to nation-building’, he said. He said that the A and the R of DARE stand for Accountability and Responsibility. We need to realize that it is our responsibility to contribute to the advancement and progress of the nation. However, he said, we first need to recognize our responsibilities our potential and create a sense of accountability and responsibility in the people around us. He stated that the E of the DARE represents ‘Excellence’ and encourages us to give our cent per cent to every job we do to achieve excellence. ‘Let us make an effort and work more than our potential. Let us stay faithful and dedicated and give out finest shot to every task we undertake, for this is the step to achieving excellence’, he explained. He concluded by congratulating the IIM Indore community on this auspicious occasion.
On this occasion, 25 employees of the IIM Indore fraternity were also felicitated for their remarkable performance, commendable services and commitment to the institute. Six children of the faculty and staff members were also felicitated for outshining in the 10th and the 12th boards.
The event was attended by the faculty, staff and family members of the IIM Indore community.
The day concluded with an ‘Incredible India Quiz’, organised by the Quiz Club of IIM Indore. The event saw a participation of around 30 teams, comprising faculty, staff and students. The team consisting Prof. Sanjeev Tripathi and Prof . Siddharth Rastogi topped the prelims with 20.5/25 points. However, they chose to sit out the finals. After nail-biting four rounds of finals, Prof. Srinivas Gunta & Joseph Benny’s (IPM 2018) team stood first, closely followed by Aditya Gulia & Akshaj Raman ( both IPM 2017).
The Quiz Club gave out audience prizes for every correct answer along with prizes.
