The second batch of the Executive Programme in Digital Transformation (EPDT) commenced at IIM Indore on January 29, 2022. The virtual inauguration took place in the presence of Prof. Saumya Ranjan Dash, Dean-Programmes; Prof. Subin Sudhir, Chair-Executive Education and Prof. Saurabh Kumar and Prof. Sanjog Ray, Programme Coordinators, EPDT.
Prof. Saumya Ranjan Dash welcomed the new batch to the IIM Indore family. He advised the participants to be proactive in gaining knowledge by interacting with the faculty members and peers. Divided into three parts, the programme will focus on understanding business models and the need to innovate to compete in the current competitive scenario, understanding the nitty-gritty of the building blocks of a digital enterprise, and dealing with people’s aspects during a digital transformation.
Prof. Subin Sudhir noted that this programme would provide the participants with a platform to learn about technology implementation in diverse industries. ‘You will get an opportunity to interact with your peers to understand their work culture and ideas. This would help you decide whether you can replicate their strategies in your organization as well’, he said.
Prof. Saurabh Kumar briefed the participants about the 11-month programme and the topics. He noted that the programme’s strength is its comprehensive coverage of every aspect of a digital transformation journey. ‘This robustly designed programme will provide you information and make you adept at gaining the skills in the three key areas of digital transformation: strategy, technology, and people’. He noted that the programme would emphasize big data technologies, the internet of things, cloud computing, and leveraging these for competitive advantage. Prof. Sanjog Ray noted that this programme would include a judicious mix of lectures, case discussions, project work, term papers, assignments, etc., that would evaluate and enhance the learning of the batch.
A total of 111 participants from different domains registered from the programme. The batch comprises participants from various backgrounds, including engineering, science, commerce, arts, management, computer applications, medical sciences and pharmacy, etc. This blend of executives, the majority of whom have a work experience of 15-20 years, brings together immense diversity to the batch, thereby providing the participants with an option to learn and interact with each other. They will bring insights from domains like finance, banking, IT and ITES, sales and marketing, management, education, engineering, etc. Since the programme is conducted online, it includes participants from across the nation.
