This year, the ranking has been declared for eleven categories namely, Overall, University, Management, College, Pharmacy, Medical, Engineering, Architecture, ARIIA (Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements), Law and Research Institutions. The NIRF India Ranking parameters and the weighted averages adopted to derive the rankings differ for all the categories. The broad categories adopted to rank the colleges, universities and institutes include Teaching, Learning and Resources; Research and Professional Practice; Graduation Outcomes; Outreach and Inclusivity and Peer Perception. With each passing year, the number of institutes participating in NIRF rankings has increased and so have the categories in which institutes are ranked. In 2016, the institutes were ranked in only four categories which increased to eleven in 2021.
‘We have come a long way in our magnificent journey of 25 years. This year, as we celebrate our 25 years of nation building, we are on the 6th Rank, one up from the last year. The academic year 2020-21 has been eventful and has added numerous accomplishments in the list for IIM Indore. We are committed to excel and enhance and enrich our capabilities in the field of academics and research. We now have foreign collaborations with over 40 foreign education institutes in 16 nations, providing a platform to our participants and faculty members for student exchange and research’, said Prof. Himanshu Rai, Director, IIM Indore. We have signed multiple MoUs not only with the educational institutes but also have collaborated with various government bodies and PSUs, intending to contribute to the nation and society’s welfare. This year has been a journey of learning, hard work and progress. The credit for this goes to the entire institute which has worked diligently to make this happen. We intend to do even better in the years to come, he added.
The Institute aims to contribute to the society, city, state, and nation as a whole and therefore has been working in partnership with local administration and government for various initiatives—through research, management and training sessions. This year, the Institute has also joined forces with Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation, Madhya Pradesh Urban Development and Housing Department, Madhya Pradesh Police, Ayodhya Civic Body, Kanpur Smart City Department and National Centre for Goods and Governance along with several other government and administrative bodies in the city, in the state and even at the national level. Last year, the Institute had also prepared an action plan in association with the Uttar Pradesh Government under One District One Product Scheme to uplift five districts in the Gorakhpur division, and help the market grow and encourage women empowerment.
The Institute looks forward to contributing significantly to the welfare of the nation and achieving more in terms of research and academics in the coming years.
