IIM Indore’s Alumni Committee organized the second edition of Luminescence at Bangalore on September 15, 2018. After the first edition of the event kic
ked off in 2017, the second edition was quite more exciting and witnessed a presence of many alumni. Luminescence was started with the intention of forwarding IIM Indore’s mission to remain a contextually relevant business school and to continue the transfer of knowledge from the institute to its students, both old and new.
This year the seminar was centred around the theme—‘Disruptive Technologies in Building India’s Digital Future’, where distinguished and seasoned professionals from the industry threw light on an entire spectrum of topics including limitations of digital transformation, trends observed in the process, changing face of leadership in the digital age, role of AI and block-chain in transforming India; to name a few. The event commenced with an introductory speech by Professor Rishikesha T. Krishnan, Director, IIM Indore.
This was followed by a talk by Mr. Praveen Kamath, General Manager & HR Head ‐ Global Delivery & Enablement, Wipro. He explored the topic—‘Is the digital economy transformational?’
Ms. Minal Shah, Asia Pacific Lead ‐ Global Market Intelligence, SAP, who is also the alumni of IIM Indore from the batch PGP 2000-02, also interacted with the audience. She spoke about—‘Digital Transformation Trends in India’.
Mr. S Srinivasa Sivakumar, Chief Digital Advisor, Microsoft highlighted and elaborated on ‘Two Technologies that could empower India’s Digital Future’; while Mr. Piyush Kumar Chowhan, Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer, Arvind Lifestyle Brands Limited spoke about ‘Leadership In the Digital Age: Creating a Mindful Leader’.
The highlight of the event was a panel discussion on the topic—‘Role of New Ventures in Advancing India Towards the Digital Era’. The panel comprised of eminent speakers – Mr. Ankur Pandey( Founder, Signzy.com), Mr. Ajay Kashyap (Founder, Boxx.ai) and Ms. Jahnavi Ravi Prakash (Founder, Luciance
Automation) who is also an alumnus of IIM Indore Batch of 2008. Each speaker
shared their unique dimensions and understanding of the subject which made
discussion rich and intuitive for the audience.
Alumni Committee will continue to organize such enriching events for the alumni and looks forward to an enthusiastic participation for the same.
